Anlässlich der Projektwoche mit dem Motto "neue Energien" des Geschwister Scholl Gymnasiums in Pulheim führte die Firma windtest grevenbroich gmbh am 28.04.2010 eine Testfeldführung durch. Auf dem eigenen, vor der Haustür gelegenen Prototypentestfeld für Windenergieanlagen konnten die 20 Austauschschüler und 3 Betreuer aus Napoli (Italien) die auf dem Testfeld bestehenden Windenergieanlagen begutachten.
Die ca. 2,5 Stunden dauernde Testfeldführung beinhaltete auch einen ca. 45 minütigen Vortrag mit dem Fokus Windenergie. Ein Blickfang war die zur Zeit höchste auf dem Testfeld stehende Windenergieanlage: die Siemens SWT 2.3. Die Windenergieanlage mit 133 m Nabenhöhe steht auf einem Hybridturm der Firma Advanced Tower Systems (ATS).

Great interest at WINDPOWER 2009 May 8th 2009 |

ATS’ Frans Brughuis attracted a lot of attention as AWEA conference speaker during the WINDPOWER 2009 conference in Chicago. His presentation on hybrid wind towers was very well received and clearly marks that this is a strategic issue on the agenda’s of all major players in the wind power energy.
With the wind energy industry moving to the next phase of its lifecycle there is a clear development towards more powerful turbines and larger rotor diameters. This calls for higher wind towers to increase the hub heights. The unique ATS hybrid tower concept enables the industry to move to hub heights of 150 meters in an efficient and economic way. Due to improved energy yields of more than 20% compared to an ordinary wind tower, the cost of energy will go down.
As a consequence the ATS booth at the WINDPOWER 2009 exhibition attracted many visitors with great interest in the innovative ATS wind tower. |
